On February 24, 2022 the Russian Federation started a full scale invasion of Ukraine increasing
violence and displacement of people that began in 2014/15 with the annexation of Crimea and
parts of the Donbas region.

This event is being held to support the people of Ukraine as they protect their right to
sovereignty and freedom. Organized by Oberig Hnizdychiv (an NGO from Ukraine) in
partnership with Razom for Ukraine.

This will be a night of celebration and education with the purpose to raise funds for Razom for
Ukraine. Razom began in 2014 during the Revolution of Dignity (or known in the US as the
Maidan Revolution) to help create a path for a prosperous Ukraine. Since February of 2022
Razom has pivoted to respond to the invasion by;
  • Providing critical humanitarian war relief and recovery;
  • Evacuating vulnerable populations, and;
  • Advocating for Ukraine.
Charmed - an Event for Ukraine is a ticketed fundraiser that will include dinner, a raffle, cultural
education, entertainment and a live auction.

Charmed - An Event for Ukraine will allow us to experience Ukraine and Ukrainian culture more holistically than what is coming through our screens right now.  Ukraine is the largest country fully in Europe with a long and rich cultural legacy.  When you come to Charmed you will become immersed in many of the best things about Ukraine: the food, the clothes, and the arts.

Your ticket will get you a delicious Ukrainian dinner and each entrance will get 2 tickets to a raffle that will include items like prints from Ukrainian artists, Cincinnati Reds and FC Cincinnati tickets, a gift basket including a Delta gift certificate and a lot more.  Each participant can see how a Pysanka (Ukrainian Easter Egg) is made, learn how to write in Cyrillic, and make a Motanka (a traditional Ukrainian good luck doll).

You’ll be able to watch a beautiful video of Ukrainian school children from the Hnizdychiv Music school, a village in Western Ukraine.  And then to top it off we will present a fashion show of beautiful Ukrainian Vyshyvanka, traditional embroidered dresses, which will all be available for auction after.

No one will go away hungry or empty handed from Charmed.

The news from Ukraine is horrific, nearly unbearable for some of us, but we would like to share the beauty and joy that is the Ukraine know and want to go back to soon.

Sponsored by Friends of Oberig Hnizdychiv in support of Razom for Ukraine.
