Kids That Fly formed in the fall of 2018, while attending the University of Connecticut. It wasn’t long before they fell into a steady rhythm of playing shows in and around Connecticut, while simultaneously commuting in and out of New York City to record and perform in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. Having all grown up in Connecticut, the crew has had a lot of influence from other Connecticut musicians such as Rivers Cuomo of Weezer. Each member has played music in the indie/alt rock spheres, even dabbled in jazz, but their broad collective musical taste includes The Black Keys, The 1975, The Killers, and Catfish and the Bottlemen—keeping them tied to a more alternative rock sound.
Praised by outlets like Atwood Magazine for their “captivating indie rock anthems” and Music Connection Magazine for their “polished, powerfully fun pop-rock,” the band has also been lauded by The Aquarian for their “fervent spirit, rock energy, and romanticism-laced narratives.”
Brooklyn, NY Brooklyn-raised artist Belle Blue is a teenage singer-songwriter with a fierce passion for music and a distinct creative voice. Growing up surrounded by a rich tapestry of musical influences, Belle found her footing in songwriting, blending the raw energy of rock with modern sensibilities. Her follow up single, “Angeles,” marks the exciting continuation of her musical journey.
Belle’s inspirations range from alt-rock legends like Garbage to the trailblazing artistry of David Bowie and other iconic figures in rock and roll. She is on a mission to reintroduce the spirit of rock to today’s audiences, breathing fresh life into the genre with her unique take on the riot grrrl movement—equal parts rebellious and accessible.
With more music on the horizon, Belle Blue is redefining what it means to be a young, independent artist in the modern music scene.
Belle Blue’s“Angeles”is out on all platforms April 25th, on Midnight Entertainment.
