Holiday Hangover is the best Holiday party in Cincinnati. The Wonderlands are back for their 3rd annual celebration of the best music Cincinnati has to offer. This year, they will be joined by Sylmar, Saving Escape, and Boy Bandicoot for a night of great music and holiday cheer. About THE WONDERLANDS:
Originally from Cincinnati, OH, the now Nashville-based quintet The Wonderlands combines the anthemic qualities of pop music with influences from indie rock and jazz. Having just released their third studio album The Great Escape, the group tries a new take on the electronically-augmented band sound aided by producer Drew Long, and explores themes of disillusion, brevity and family. The band has had the fortune to share the stage with the likes of nationally-acclaimed acts Lawrence, Melt, Ripe and Motherfolk along the way. About SYLMAR:
Five Sweet men with loud guitars, dynamic vocals, loose dance moves, and rollercoaster rhythms; writing memorable guitar rock for the ADD generation. Jeff Buckley plus Queen divided by Radiohead equals Sylmar. Like Korean Cuisine, Sylmar is best enjoyed live. They’ve been a Motr Pub and Woodward Theater staple since 2017. They’ve spent the better half of 2022 touring their latest LP, Glass Ladders in rock clubs and theaters across the midwest, south, east and west coasts.
Channeling the swagger of Nick Cave and Freddie Mercury, the lyrics of Matt Berninger and the energy of Joe Talbot, lead singer Brian McCullough sweats enough for the entire band. Guitarists Dan Sutter and Luke Glaser pair John Frusciante and Carl Broemel licks with ambient, shoe-gaze soundscapes to create a wide spectrum of sound. Check out Fittering and Kinks to get a feel for their dynamic.
Rhythm section, Ethan Kimberly and Dom Franco impress progheads, jazz and jam nuts alike, with the chops of At the Drive-In, Thundercat and yes even Phish. Take a ride with post-punk bop Needja.
